Image Gallery for Album "05_fish_pond_and_bog"

This is the largest of four ponds in my backyard, and I've built a sphagnum bog at its overflow and integrated the two.

The fish started out life as colorless, one-inch "feeder fish" at the local Petco, and they've turned out to be multi-colored comet goldfish and are now six to seven inches long.  They don't seem to mind the pond freezing in the winter time.

Here's a shot of how it all got started, so you can get an idea about whether or not you want to do something like this.
